Jefferson "J.C." Sheen is an Assistant Professor and MSW Program Coordinator at the Utah State University College of Social Work. With over two decades of experience in the disability field, he has held roles such as Associate Director of Research and Training at the Center for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) and served on policy advisory committees including Senator Hatch's Disability Advisory Committee.

His research focuses on systemic change initiatives to improve disability inclusion and wellbeing, with specific expertise in community development, mindfulness interventions for parents of children with disabilities, and social policy analysis. Prior to his faculty role, he directed and evaluated disability service programs and provided policy training in collaboration with state/national stakeholders.
As an educator, Sheen has served as an adjunct instructor in interdisciplinary departments including Special Education, Psychology, and Anthropology. His work emphasizes participatory action research, mixed-methods methodologies, and pedagogical innovation in social work education.
